This has definitely been the most enjoyable English assignment and I hope that everyone achieved their goals even though sadly I didn't achieve mine but don't you worry about that, I'll eventually achieve it!:D

Once I've perfected driving an automatic including not driving too close to the curb and cutting corners, I'll go back to learning how to drive a manual. Considering I went for my L plates on the 9th of April, I can go for my second phase on the 9th of October although I just checked my calendar and that's a Saturday so it looks like that I'll have to go for it on the 11th of October:)

And don't forget to drive safe and drive like a Nanna!:D

I know that I keep repeating myself by saying, "Practice makes perfect" although it's a phrase that I strongly believe in and so last night I was thinking about what else I could write about considering Dad still hasn't bought me new L plates therefore I can't write about any driving that I'm doing. Then I started thinking about things that I needed to improve on before I go for my second phase and thought, "Hey! That can be what my next blog is about!"

When driving an automatic, I need to focus on not getting too close to the curb otherwise I could end up having an accident or I could even scratch the mags on the car that I'm driving and I can tell you right now, I can't afford to pay for new mags that I scratch because I'm not paying attention to the curb! The other thing that I need to focus on is not going to slow around the corners because according to Dad I'll annoy other driver's which yeah, that's true!:P Those 2 things are the main things that I need to focus on before I go back to driving a manual.

So like I said practice makes perfect!:D

Even though I wouldn't have been able to go driving during the week this week because I've lost 1 of my L plates, I wouldn't have had a car to go driving in anyway.

Unfortunately Dad works until 6.30pm or even later on some occasions from Monday through to Friday which is why I can only go driving on a Saturday and a Sunday because Mum's car is a manual and by the time Dad gets home, it's dark. Even though Dad works until 6.30pm so I can't go driving anyway, we're also a busy family on week days so I can't just blame Dad.

Hopefully Dad and I manage to find some time every weekend so that we can go driving which will raise my confidence and of course don't forget that practise makes perfect!:)

I forgot to mention in my last blog that I unfortunately won't be able to drive all of this week!:(

Yesterday after I had dropped Harrison off at his mate's house, I was driving home and I was concentrating on the road and then something went flying up the windscreen! I immediately looked at Dad with a blank look on my face not wanting to know what I had hit and then Dad said, "Oops! There goes your L plate!" You have no idea how relieved I felt when those words came out of Dad's mouth. My L plates are magnetic so they don't stick on the window, only on the back of the car and on the bonnet so the wind must have been stronger than the magnet and caused it to slide up the bonnet, up the windscreen and onto the road and there I was thinking that I had hit an animal!

When we went back to look for it, it wasn't there which we thought was a bit strange considering the road that we were driving on wasn't busy at all! As we were driving to our family friend's 21st I said to Mum and Dad that I wouldn't be able to drive until they got me new L plates that weren't magnetic and stuck on the window and Dad replied with, "Looks like we won't be buying you new L plates then!"
Yesterday while I was getting ready to go to our family friends 21st, I asked my brother, Harrison, if he was coming and he said that he was going to his mate's house instead. So considering that I was ready and Dad was ready to take Harrison to his mate's house and Mum was still getting ready, I asked Dad if I was able to drive Harrison there. With a cheeky grin on his face, Harrison answered the question for Dad and replied with, "Yeah! Let her!"

Dad, Harrison and I walked out the front and Dad asked me if I wanted to reverse out of the driveway but there was no way that I would've been able to just yet so I asked Dad to just reverse out and then pull over which is what he did. Unfortunately, some of the neighbours were out and about and a lady who lives 3 houses up from us was pulling out of her driveway as I got into the driver's seat and yelled out to my dad, "Darryl don't do it! Don't do it!" Then the neighbours who live 8 houses up from us stopped next to our car and said, "Don't start driving until we're on the freeway please!" And then the neighbours who live 2 houses down from us said, "Oh my gosh!" But they were all only joking of course!:)

As I dropped Harrison off his exact words were, "Wow! You're actually pretty good!" Now, that's coming from my brother which is pretty convincing considering nothing he says to me is ever nice!

Once again I went driving around Bateman in Dad's automatic but instead of Dad driving to Broadhurst Cresent and then pulling over so that I could get into the driver's seat, he reversed the car into the driveway so that I could drive up the driveway and follow his directions from there.

So I've sat in the driver's seat and done the usual, put my seat belt on, put my foot on the brake, taken off the hand brake and put the gear into drive although I was a little bit nervous because I knew that the car would start rolling backwards as soon as I took my foot off the brake which meant that I would've gone straight into Mum's car! I asked Dad if it would go quite fast and he said that it would just roll a little bit, so as quickly as I could I took my foot off the brake and put it onto the accelerator and let's just say that that wasn't a very good idea! Our head's both flew back into the heads of our seat because I think that I accelerated just a little too much but we couldn't help but laugh!

Nothing else happened that was really that funny unfortunately. I'm still cutting corners and getting a little bit close to the curb which is stressing Dad out quite a bit because he doesn't want me scratching his $700 mags! Yeah, no pressure at all Dad!

I'm starting to really enjoy driving and I'm starting to really annoy my dad by constantly asking him if he wants to take me driving considering I know that my mum won't because she doesn't have the guts! I'm not that bad.. He he!:)

So on the 1st of August, I asked dad if he wanted to take me for a drive and his reply was, "*sigh* C'mon then!" So I grabbed my banana bubble tea and went and sat in the passenger seat of the car.

Instead of going to Murdoch University, dad pulled over to the side of the road on Broadhurst Cresent in Bateman so that I could get used to actually being on the road. Dad directed me and told me where to turn and I just followed his directions. Although I'm still a bit rusty on turning because I tend to cut corners, I'm definitely becoming a lot more confident!:)

I'd love to sit here and write more but I have to go to PE studies now!
