Yeah, I've given up already on learning how to drive a manual and I secretly think that Dad has given up on trying to teach me too, so until I'm comfortably driving an automatic on the road and I'm aware of all of the road rules, I won't be learning how to drive a manual.
So after not going on the road for a while, I decided to go for another drive with Dad just through the Murdoch University car park in Dad's automatic on the 25th of July. I can't believe how much easier it is driving an automatic compared to driving a manual! I didn't have to worry about stalling it, all I had to worry about was accelerating and braking. Just one thing I apparently need to remember is to not be afraid of the accelerator although I'm pretty sure that my parents don't want me being a lead foot (HAHA! Thanks to Miss Haydock I didn't embarrass myself by nearly putting lead head, Ebani was the one who embarrassed herself by saying it out loud to the whole class!). So after Dad telling me that I can't be afraid of the accelerator, I put the metal to the pedal and then Dad told me that I needed to stop so I braked fairly hard and I pretty much just about made our heads nearly go through the windscreen otherwise we would've ended up in the bush!
I'm hoping to be driving through the university next time so I'll be letting you know how I go with other cars on the road!
Byyyye!:D

Aha im learning manual and last night i drove an automatic car. I agree it is A LOT easier because you can pay so much more attention to the road :) but on the weekend i just got the hang of driving my brothers car (which is manual) because i normally stall at traffic lights because I get nervous :/
ReplyDeleteIt's good you keep getting out on the roads, well to the uni, and maybe you just need to get your confidence up to be able to drive ta manual car. I'm sure you are doing fine, and just keep positive because you will get there soon!:D
ReplyDeleteloveyou, xx
um pedal to the metal?
ReplyDeleteor metal to the pedal?
:P hahaha
awh I gotta love you Tay :D
<3
Noooo don't give up! It does take a bit of work but it's worth it once you get the hang of it. Once you get used to being on the road, maybe you could try again.
ReplyDeletehahahah awww goodluck aye and good try see me in the other hand imnot even doing manual im going auto all the way :) keep it up and i cant wait to read all your aother blogs

Dont stop! It seems hard at first! You know an auto goes forward if you dont hold down the brake? Hold out the clutch until the car starts rolling like that then accelerate and release the clutch. Thats what helped me at least. And I havent stalled in 2 weeks since
ReplyDeletesounds fun:)
ReplyDeletei havn't started driving yet but im verry excited :)

Good luck, it will be good if you can drive the manual by the end of this.

it's going great thank you!:D, I haven't been out on any busy roads yet because Dad doesn't think that I'm ready and yeah, he's probably right!:P I decided to switch back to automatic because manual was too hard to start off in but don't worry, I'm going to get the hang of driving a manual!:)
